The jump-off point going to Ban-awan Falls is just a quick 10-minute habal-habal ride from Lawaan town proper. The hike normally takes 1 to 1.5 hours, however, after the onslaught of typhoon Yolanda, it is said that the hike now takes up to 4 hours. Despite this, Ban-awan Falls is still one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful waterfalls in Eastern Visayas, thus including it in your itinerary is highly recommended. Read More!

How To Get To Ban-awan Falls
From Tacloban Central Terminal, ride a bus or jeep going to Lawaan or Guiuan. Buses and jeepneys bound for Guiuan will pass by the town of Lawaan. A faster and rather more convenient option is to ride a van from any of the van terminal in downtown Tacloban (either Duptours or Van-Van's). Travel time from Tacloban to Lawaan in a van is around 1.5hrs and costs about Php150. Read More!
Tips Before Going to Ban-awan Waterfalls
- Before your trip, please contact Sir Bobby Baldo of Lawaan Tourism Office at 09464140501
- The best time to visit the falls is early morning. Begin your hike around 6:00am. Bring snacks and lots of water.
- The best time to take photos is early between 8:00am to 11:00am when the sun is on the east.
