Legend has it that the word "Mogpog" originated from "Maapog" word, meaning, the abundance of "apog" which refers to the lime makers or manufacturers.

Magpog is blessed with green scenic spots from mountain tops to plain lands down to the blue seawater. The culture and tradition like "Putong" or "Tubong" and Mariones Festivals placed Maogpog and the province of Marinduque in the map of Philippine Tourism. Paadjao Falls is one of them.

Paadjao Falls is located in Barangay Bocboc. This roughly 100 feet waterfall cascades into a 6 feet basin surrounded by tall trees. Its water remains cold throughout the year feeding Mogpog River. It can be reached within a thirty-minute hike from Barangay Bocboc.

How To Get There

Mogpog, Marinduque (about 182 km from Ninoy Aquino International Airport). From Balacanan Pier where the ferry from Lucena lands, take a tricycle to Paadjao Falls. After a few minutes ride past Central Mogpog towards Santa Cruz, you will see a sign on the right saying 2 km to Paadjao from the main road. Do note that there is no sign at the point where you are supposed to take a right and start walking to the falls. I didn’t note exactly how long it took from Balacanan Pier to Paadjao Falls itself, but I’m guessing it took more than an hour on a tricycle. Read More
