Tinuy-an Falls is located in Burboanan, Bislig City, a one hour ride from Mangagoy, the center of trade and commerce in Bislig City It is the widest and tallest falls I've ever been to. It does seem like a curtain that covers the tall rock wall behind it. In addition to it, there are trees beside it that add colors and appeal to these falls. On that, I and my friends do not waste our time. We set up our cameras and took photographs in any possible way. Read more.

There is a bamboo raft on the side of the pool which you can ride to go near the falls. If you have more time, you can follow the staircase located at the side of the falls. It will bring you to the second and third levels of the waterfalls. Both levels are smaller but the beauty is still incomparable due to its unique formation. Read more.

The name Tinuy-an comes from the word Tinuyo-an, a native vernacular which means "intentional act or performance to attain an object or goal". It can also be transliterated into the Filipino context as "Babalik-balikan" ( a place you'll keep going back to). Read more.

How to get to the Tinuy-an Falls?

You can fly to Butuan from Manila which will takes about less than one and half hours. Then from Butuan, you could either ride a van or a bus to the town of Hinatuan which may take about four hours or more depending on how many stops the van or the bus takes. There are a number of stops covering the provinces of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur. We took a van straight from the airport and were asked to pay Php350.00 which I think is way too much considering we only Php 180.00 from Hinatuan to Butuan the next day.
