Lumbatin Falls |
Iligan City is endowed with forests and several waterfalls and was referred as the "City of Waterfalls." Lumbatin Falls is found in this city in Barangay Pugaan, 7.2 kilometers from the city center. It can not be as famous as the majestic Maria Cristina Falls, Tinago Falls, and Limunsudan Falls to name a few but, Lumbatin Falls can be quite interesting to visit.
Lumbatin Falls and Sacred Falls
These waterfalls of Pugaan has a name history. It was previously named by the occupants of the area as Sacred Falls, came from the family name Sagrado. Eventually, it was changed to Secret Falls which consists of five stages. Lumbatin Falls is one of them.
Lumbatin Falls has a height of fifteen feet with a small lagoon. It is hidden within the deep foliage and sits at the foot of Mount Agad-agad. It can be reached within fifteen minutes by foot from the barangay road. It has been visited by families and friends for outdoor fun and picnics.
To reach the waterfalls, it is best to look for a local guide.
