The Majestic Bulingan Falls of Lamitan


Basilan's negative perception attached to its name makes this place one of the least visited provinces in the Philippines. With this, Basilan's charming natural resources retained their beauty and splendor. It is the largest major island of the Sulu archipelago.

Bulingan Falls is one of the unspoiled beautiful places in Basilan. It is located in Lamitan City about 11 kilometers southwest of the city proper bounded by Barangay Boheyakan and Look.

It has become one of the prime attractions of the city boasting 21-feet high cascading waterfalls lashing on its unusual rock formations down to a clear pool surrounded by rich flora and fauna.

How to get to Bulingan Falls?

Daily flights to the major cities in Zamboanga City are available. Zamboanga City is the gateway to the province of Basilan. From the city of Zamboanga, take a fast craft or ferry boat bound for Isabela City in Basilan. 

From Isabela, take a bus or van bound for Lamitan City. You can also take a ferry boat from Zamboanga City that will take you directly to Lamitan City. From Lamitan, go to the City Tourism Office at the City Hall for transportation assistance to Bulingan Falls.
