After sweating your body in your long journey to the top of the mountain, one of the best feelings you could ever have is a taste of cold crystal water that cleanses not only your body but your soul as well. One place to go when in Albay is the Vera Falls found at the foot of Mt. Malinao. Hey! who wouldn't want to take a dip into the fresh flowing natural waters? It is very photogenic, there are open cottages and restrooms available and the place is clean and well-kept. It was really stunning. How To Get to Vera Falls?


Going to Vera Falls is a bit tricky but the scenic routes make up for it. You will be passing through the Rio Grande with crystal clear waters, and as you go up Mt. Malinao, you will have a fantastic view of Mayon and a parade of abaca, both plant, and fiber.

Getting to Vera Falls from Legaspi:
  • Get to Rizal road and take a jeepney to the grand terminal where vans wait for passengers to different places in Bicol and it cost Php8.00/person
  • Take a van bound for Tabaco and alight at the Tabaco Terminal. Fare is Php50.00
  • From Tabaco Terminal, take a tricycle to take you to Comun Elementary School in Barangay Comun for Php150.00 or take a jeepney bound for Polangui.
  • From Comun Elementary School, there are lots of habal-habal waiting to be hired for Php200.00. Tell the driver to take you to Vera Falls.
  • You will know that you've reached the entrance of Vera Falls when you see a paved parking area out of nowhere. You will have to get off the motorcycle and use the short flight of stairs down to the falls (around 170 steps). While walking, you'll hear the inviting sound of the falls which might excite you even more.
