Merloquet Falls is the hidden treasure of Zamboanga City. It is located in Barangay Sibulao, beside Barangay Vitali - a junction point to the falls, which is less than three hours commute from Zamboanga City. Merloquet is a two-tiered waterfall with the upper level located several meters above the main cascade. The lower level which is in plain sight after treacherous downhill staircases are where most of the fun happened and unarguably the most picturesque face of the waterfalls. Read more.

Merloquet falls has a wide main cascade that is truly amazing. I think Merloquet Falls is midway from being Block Type and Segmented Type waterfalls, and guess what, we have the waterfalls ourselves that time! It's one of Mindanao's most visited waterfalls and it's a pride of Zamboanga City. Upon reaching the place, we also need to take the 372 steps before going down the falls from the main entrance. When you look at it closer the waterfalls are even marvelous and very majestic than it looked. People usually stay in a lower level of the falls, which is more sterling. But you can also climb up to a higher level by on its side holding to the tree roots to get a good look of the lower one. Read more.
How to get to Merloquet Falls?
- From Zamboanga Airport ride a tricycle going to Zamboanga City. Integrated Bus Terminal (Divisoria)
- From Divisoria, look for a bus or a van bound for either Dipolog, Pagadian, or Ipil. You can ask the driver or a conductor to drop you at the Vitali bus stop. Or just tell them you are going to Merloquet Falls. Travel time is around 2hrs or 2.5 hrs.
- Charter a habal-habal to take you up Barangay Sibulaojump off to Merloquey Falls.
- It's a 15minutes ride from the highway to the jump-off. Trave times about 30 minutes.

Travel Tips:
- Don't hesitate to ask locals, they are very friendly and helpful
- You may ask your Habal-habal driver to pick you up after a few hours. Or you may ask him to stay and wait for you.
- Be prepared to walk down the stairs with 372 steps to be exact.
- There's a Sari-sari store in the jump-off area, where you can buy food and water.
- Bring extra clothes and wear proper footwear for hiking.
- don't forget to wear sunscreen to protect your skin.
